6th International May Conference, Current Issues In English Studies
14-15 May 2015

FIRST CIRCULAR
We would like to invite academics with research interests in various aspects of the English language, as well as those studying the history and culture of English speaking countries, to present papers at the Conference. We hope that such an intersemiotic exchange of ideas and findings will prove to be fruitful.
The topics at the conference include, but are not limited to:
Speakers are invited to submit abstracts, which must be written in English (200-250 words), via the conference registration form no later than 15 March 2015.
The conference language is English. Thus, all the papers must be delivered in English.
There will also be five plenary talks, to which all participants are invited. The keynote speakers are as follows:
prof. KUL dr hab. Bogusław Marek (OBE) – John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin
dr hab. Władysław Witalisz – Jagiellonian University
prof. UP dr hab. Mariusz Misztal – Pedagogical University of Cracow
Anna Stanisławska-Mischke – University of Economics, Cracow
Piotr Peszko – Motorola Solutions Systems, Poland
In addition, further opportunities to discuss matters relevant to education today are planned:
Conference papers will be published after having been reviewed and accepted by specialists in the field.
The conference fee is 300 PLN / 100 euro (for participants from abroad).
The fee includes conference materials, refreshments, lunch on both days and a conference dinner.
Important dates
► 15 March 2015: Deadline for speaker registration and abstract submission
► 20 March 2015: Notification of Acceptance
► 31 March 2015: Deadline for payment of conference fee (details will be given in a second circular)
► 14 - 15 May 2015: Dates of conference (on the second day a parallel session of PL-CALL is to be held)
► 30 Sept 2015: Deadline for submission of articles for the monograph
► 31 Dec 2015: Notification of article acceptance for publication
► 2016: Publication of monograph

- a discussion panel (in Polish): Academic e-learning in Poland: already a thing of the past or yet to come / E-learning akademicki w Polsce: już się skończył czy jeszcze się nie zaczął in which prof. dr hab. Jerzy Mischke (SEA), prof. UP dr hab. Anna Turula (Pedagogical University, Cracow), dr hab. Jarosław Krajka (Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Lublin), dr Małgorzata Kurek (Jan Długosz University, Częstochowa), dr inż. Tomasz Walasek (SEA) and Piotr Peszko (Motorola Solutions) will lead the discussions.
- two practical workshops: the first will focus on Open Educational Resources and be led by Anna Skowron (Jan Długosz University, Częstochowa); the second will consider Intercultural Exchanges Online / Telecollaboration and be chaired by Małgorzata (Gosia) Kurek (Jan Długosz University, Częstochowa).
